we are

Bioinspired and biomimetic

see why

we want to build a better world through
design. That’s why we are inspired by
biomimicry
and eco design.

Both fields draw inspiration from nature to develop products, systems, and processes that are
more efficient and environmentally friendly. This is one of the core principles of Pragmatic: to
create innovative and sustainable solutions inspired by nature.

Safer Food

Consumers are becoming increasingly demanding when it comes to the presentation of a product, and the food industry is no exception. In this regard, we have designed a 100% biodegradable modular packaging with the ability to absorb food exudates to prevent leaks and maintain product integrity. Additionally, this packaging has antibacterial and antifungal abilities, capable of extending the shelf life of perishable products. In summary, we have developed a solution that allows for prolonging the preservation time of fresh foods, thereby improving quality and safety for consumption.

This development was made using biopolymeric membranes reinforced with natural nanomaterials and was bioinspired, meaning it was developed based on patterns found in nature. In this case, it was based on the structure of mushrooms in order to create stability in packaging.

G&N Medical

In this project, which consists of anti-embolism stockings, we focused on designing the sole grip of the stocking with the aim of further maximizing patient safety and product functionality. The ergonomic design was conceived to better adapt to the foot. Additionally, these stockings were designed to be easy to adjust, which helps reduce nursing time in a hospital setting, as well as the number of patient falls, thanks to the grip of the stocking sole.

This development is an example of biomimicry, as it was made based on the analysis of fingerprints.
